The Official RetroMC Iceberg is an iceberg chart that categorizes the lore, mysteries, and secrets of RetroMC. It consists of 10 levels, with topics at the surface level being well-known to most players of RetroMC, while those deeper down are less familiar and more obscure. Some entries are unknown and open to player interpretation. Levels are arranged from top (sky/1) to bottom (sea depths/10).
Level 1
Server rules
In RetroMC, the server rules refer to a set of rules established by JohnyMuffin and some of the other staff members in the server to ensure that, as a Vanilla PVE server, it will have a "fair, enjoyable, and respectful environment for all players".
Discord server
This refers to RetroMC having its own official Discord server, "RetroMC Beta Minecraft".
Ranks
On RetroMC, there is a rank system that consists of 4 regular ranks, 4 donation ranks, and 5 staff ranks.
There are also Discord roles that have no in-game equivalent.
"Oldest Beta Server"
This term refers to RetroMC being the oldest Minecraft Beta 1.7.3 server that's still running, having been created back in June 18th, 2014.
Despite this fact, it is not actually the oldest running Minecraft Beta 1.7.3 server, with that title belonging to another server.
Staff team
On RetroMC, there is a team of staff members that help assist and moderate the server in various ways.
Overviewer
Overviewer is a command-line tool and plugin that RetroMC uses for rendering a high-resolution and interactive map of its world, which can be seen on world.retromc.org.
It's also resource intensive, and because of this, there's no map for the other dimensions.
"wb"
An abbreviation for 'welcome back,' typically used as a greeting when players (who have already joined) join the server or return from being AFK (away from keyboard).
RetroMC Wiki
This very wiki, based on RetroMC that documents various facets of its namesake.
