The United Imperial Provinces (UIP or U.I.P), commonly known as The UIP, is a nation located directly east of Spawn Town. It is a conglomerate of over 100 towns, 3 capitals, and as of writing, 8 active member states. The nation has the server's largest land area, and largest population, exceeding 1,000 players.
History
Early colonization
The first inhabitants of the land that would later become the UIP migrated from Spawn Town in 2018 and traveled east and established towns such as X5TT and Edago. The culture at the time fairly toxic, due mainly to a lack of proper rules and the 'free speech' mentality of the moderation team. The largest of these towns, X5TT was a schematic from the old retrolands map, and it was renamed twice, first to Metro City and finally to Kekistan. These towns developed separately from each other and enjoyed a time of economic prosperity due to Cactus Economy (see Removed features).
Corruption was rampant in the staff team at the time and players like
drogba32 abused world editing permissions to help make their towns larger and more impressive. This lead to an unprecedented expansion of the towns and they quickly became the largest on the server.
Cactus Economy Uprising
After the removal of Cactus Economy in late 2018, members of Kekistan were in uproar. A certain few members consisting of
drogba32,
Ekoro,
Sewer_Spewer,
Radrin13, and
Gilbarto began harassing staff. Although two of the members of this group were already staff, they disagreed heavily with the decision to remove Cactus Economy. The constant harassment of the staff team and the increasing 'edginess' of Kekistan and it's members eventually reached a peak when a member of Kekistan was banned for building hate symbols. Kekistan leadership then began making threats against the server, and followed through with them. Crimes such as slur spamming, staff impersonation, attempted DDOS, griefing, and ban evading were done consistently. This uprising led to the permanent closing of the RetroMC Jail, and the release of JBans.
By December 2020, the uprising was ended when the aforementioned players were IP banned.
Orknarok_666 was given ownership of Kekistan and promoted to Moderator.
Formation of the UIP
The United Imperial Provinces (UIP) was founded in early 2021. The concept was first proposed by disgraced mayor of Amish City,
SovietMcMuffin.
Orknarok_666, then-president of Kekistan, supported this idea. The Imperial Coalition, was a key element of the concept. The Imperial Coalition discord referred to the idea as the "spawn axis". This is because it called for an international coalition of the three largest and most powerful nations located near Spawn. The Prime Minister at the time,
LukeisStuff, would work with mayors across the Imperial Coalition to draft a formal proposal. He worked closely with Okeogian Governor
marioboyrc. Together, they completed a formalized proposal. With a coalition assembly vote of 8-0,
LukeisStuff was permitted to send it to the spawn nations.
The proposal was agreed to with no modifications. The leaders then worked to animate the document by making all the changes to the Imperial Coalition discord as prescribed.
God Emperor Elections
The first God Emperor election was a race between Imperial Coalition Prime Minister
LukeIsStuff and Amish City mayor
SovietMcMuffin. A debate was planned on February 13th 2021, in the Metro Stadium in Kekistan, with voiced moderators to ask questions. But
SovietMcMuffin got upset and decided he wanted to drop out and debate never happened.
LukeisStuff wins the race by default and becomes the first God Emperor of the United Imperial Provinces. He also won the second God Emperor election beating mayor
ReelPlox 8-3. After becoming inactive,
Orknarok_666 assumed the role of God Emperor by default, and abolished future God Emperor elections unless he became inactive.

The Great Leap Forward
Following
Orknarok_666's ascent to the throne, the UIP underwent a period of decline. Due to much of UIP leadership becoming inactive,
Orknarok_666 was left to continue the legacy by himself. He chose to plan out how the UIP should function as a nation, and what would incentivize people to join and stay active. A plan was developed to bring the UIP back into the limelight. The Great Leap Forward was an economic and social campaign developed by mainly
Orknarok_666, and aided by
aq2a. It involved a 5 step process that would bring attention to the UIP and the server as a whole, and hopefully inspire players to stay active on the server.
The first step in this revival plan was to flatten the entirety of the UIP and build a wall around it. This was solely by
Orknarok_666, with occasional help from other players. This step has been an ongoing process since 2021 and is still not finished.
The second step was the construction of the UIP Factory. This would serve as the economic backbone of the UIP, allowing players to work and earn money by selling materials directly to the UIP.
Orknarok_666 began the construction of the complex in 2021, and it was picked up by
aq2a in late 2023 who has continued to construct the complex ever since.
The third step involved a revival of the three original towns (also called the 'Homeland'), Kekistan, Imperial Coalition, and Amish City. This step would involve the re-organization of these old towns to allow for new players to join.
Orknarok_666 entrusted
aq2a, and
Jcheese7 to run Amish City and Imperial Coalition respectively. The three original towns had to be significantly changed to allow for this, and during this time builds were moved and land was cleared to make space for the future players. The revival of these towns is scheduled for the summer of 2024.
The fourth step of the plan has yet to be planned extensively, but in short, the UIP will harness the power of it's people to accomplish great things. While fairly vague, there are some basic goals that the UIP wants to accomplish. Finishing the flattening, and the wall, building the capital city, and creating more towns and districts, are just some of the goals that are planned for this stage.
The fifth and final step of the plan is simple. Expand. Convince towns outside the walls to join the union, and be brought into the fold. Many towns already fly the flag of the UIP, but as the saying goes, "The more the merrier!"
Territory
The United Imperial Provinces is the largest international organization covering over 37,274 claims. The land value of the entire UIP is $426,920. It includes large members like the Imperial Coalition and Kekistan, and small towns like East Korea and Karstine. Below is a table of member nations and below that is a list of UIP member states.

Government and politics
The UIP is a conglomerate of over 100 towns, with it's three provinces asserting sovereignty over each of the towns in their territories. It is the server's oldest surviving nation, and is headed by
Orknarok_666 who holds the title of God Emperor. It is a republic in which heads of state represent their towns interests in governmental meetings.
National Government
Comprised of three provinces, the UIP is directed by the decisions made by the governors of the provinces. Although technically not a democracy, governors are encouraged and often do take the voice of their people into consideration when making decisions. Elections are not held for these governors but are given by order of the current God Emperor. Towns underneath the rule of the governor's may hold elections for their respective mayors.
Foreign relations
The UIP has a rather non existent structure for foreign relations, and practices an isolationist style of diplomacy. This is done to encourage towns to join the UIP rather than just remain allies. New towns usually join the UIP from a direct invitation from the God Emperor or one of the three governors. Because joining doesn't require anything of the town, most accept this invitation.
Military
Although the UIP doesn't have a formal military, it does have different ways of fighting opponents. Because of the stability of the nation, it outlasts most opposition in both activity and economically. The UIP may or may not have nuclear capabilities.
Law enforcement and crime
Because a majority of server staff are part of the UIP, crimes seen during the time of the Cactus Economy Uprising do not happen anymore. Crimes are quickly addressed and often result in warnings or bans from the server. Although the interests of the UIP do not influence server moderation, their interests usually align fairly closely.
Economy
The UIP has been the server's richest organization since it's inception. Estimates of the conglomerate's total worth range from around $18,000,000 - $20,000,000. A majority of this money lies in the structures and item repositories that the UIP owns, and very little of it is liquidized assets. The UIP contains the UIP Warehouse, the largest shop on the server ran by Head of Industry,
aq2a. The Warehouse along with the UIP Factory allow for the UIP to remain an industrial power, and continue producing materials.
Amish City is the nation's principal financial center, hosting the majority of the UIP's player made shops in it's underground mall. The UIP is at the forefront of technological development and innovation for beta 1.7.3, especially in regards to farm design, architecture, and mega projects. The nation's economy is fueled by its abundant resources, a well-developed infrastructure, and high productivity. In the future the UIP plans to implement a job systems alongside the development of the capital city.
Mega Projects
Many of the impressive builds on RetroMC were built for the UIP, or by UIP members. It is a point of pride for the members of the nation, and many times they are called upon to help in construction.
