The Imperial Union of Nordheim, abbreviated as IUN and formerly named NorthernEmpires after the village of the same name, is a nation containing said town among several others. It was created on 7 April 2026, becoming the first nation created since the introduction of nations within JVillage earlier on the same day.
As of September 2026, it is one of six nations on RetroMC.

History
Background
In the past, nations existed on RetroMC as part of the Towny plugin. After the move to JVillage, these ceased to exist. However on 7 April 2026, nations were introduced into JVillage, costing $50,000 to create. The owner of the NorthernEmpires village,
SFRricraz63, created the NorthernEmpires nation on 7 April 2026, becoming the first player to create a nation under the new system.
War with the United Steves of America

The IUN, then still called NorthernEmpires, became implicated in a conflict with the United Steves of America nation in the wake of the FishTown Dispute, when a village joined NE in the midst of a diplomatic crisis with the U.S.A, escalating into a minor conflict. After a ceasefire between FishTown and U.S.A. ended and hostilities resumed on 10 August 2026, IUN (then NE) owner
SFRricraz63 saw FishTown as having been wrongfully attacked, and felt himself obligated to defend the nation member, thus declaring war on the United Steves in the early hours of 11 August 2026. The conflict was finally resolved with the VillageTown Summit on 5 September 2026, with the IUN (then NE) and USA entering into a treaty-bound alliance.
Name change
The fact that the NorthernEmpires village and nation shared the same name frequently became a source of confusion. Thus it was decided in August 2026 that the nation would be given a new name. After some discussion, the nation members voted among several proposals and decided on the new name: Imperial Union of Nordheim (IUN).
The new name was officially announced by NE founder
SFRricraz63 during a speech delivered at the Nordran Townhall on 10 October 2026. This speech, in which
SFRricraz63 outlined his future plans for the nation, was attended by dozens of players and boosted the online player count to a new server wide record of 55 concurrent players.
