aq2a is a player noted for his builds and contributions to multiple communities across RetroMC. Most notably, various builds in Atacama, The UIP, owner of UIP Warehouse, notifier of Balloon Shop, and the fourth Spawn Town Mayor. While usually serving as a community member, aq2a is the founder of two small villages; Coastwood, and Far Harbor. And he also is the current owner of Amish City.

Player History

Early Days

aq2a first joined RetroMC on November 27th, 2022, and created the small village of Adal located on the negative Z axis. This small town had no members, and contained one building that served as a tree farm. Most of it being unclaimed, future players would later use the farm on their journey on the negative Z highway. During December 2022, aq2a joined the new growing settlement of Atacama of which he still remains a leading member.

Atacama citizenship

During his time in Atacama, aq2a founded Atacama Lumber Co. and constructed a number of builds including: the Atacama Monastery, Atacama Lodge and most notably, the Atacama Bridge which extended 4,000 blocks to join Atacama to New Edago. He also began the construction of the Winter Palace just outside of the town, which still remains under construction. Shortly after beginning construction on the Atacama Bridge aq2a was able to earn a reputable fortune by committing the largest theft in the server's history. By selling pumpkins, to player 16.png JaBanan, aq2a stole approximately $30,000. It's during this time that aq2a became acquainted with various other notable players and staff members on the server including 16.png CruxyMC, 16.png Orknarok_666, 16.png ItsScientific, and 16.png sshshark.

UIP Contributions

After growing acquainted with the server and it's players, aq2a was invited by 16.png Orknarok_666 to work for the UIP. He was informed of the UIP's mission and it's goals, and was placed in charge of the UIP's Department of Finances, as well as the planning and construction of the UIP Factory. In mid 2023, aq2a viewed the UIP's future business plan, and laid out the future pricing of goods and the salaries of workers in the UIP Factory. Funded by the UIP, aq2a is still single-handedly building the massive complex that is the UIP Factory as well as the UIP Warehouse. aq2a has also used his own personal funds to finance various other UIP projects, some of which remain classified.
On July 8th 2024, aq2a assisted 16.png Orknarok_666 in re-opening the UIP, an event that was planned for years. He now owns a number of plots within the UIP's capitol and continues to help bring people into the town.

As of this writing, aq2a spends most of his time maintaining UIP Warehouse and Balloon Shop, as well as working on the UIP Factory.

Political Career

Third/Fourth Spawn Town Mayor

In late 2023, aq2a participated in the 3rd Spawn Town Election, although initially losing the race to rival 16.png Meowser_, he was declared interim mayor after a vote of no confidence was passed. As mayor, aq2a initiated a process of 'cleaning up' Spawn Town. This involved moving old buildings that had been abandoned for years to a new 'old town district' and making room for new structures. This led to a resurgence in Spawn Town's market, with multiple new stores being constructed. He also created the Spawn Town Public Forum, a place for people to request and vote on decisions and plans regarding Spawn Town.

In February 2024, aq2a finished construction of the UIP Warehouse and opened it to the public. This would lead to a complete reformation of the server's market, and would consume a majority of aq2a's time going forward. The opening of The Warehouse would lead to the decommissioning of The Company Store and it's subsequent movement to Old Town. aq2a heavily advertised the new store, placing various advertisements throughout Spawn Town. This would eventually lead to a controversy involving a former staff member who was upset at what he would call "abuse of mayoral powers". He would go on to remove many of the advertisements himself without notifying staff. His actions were deemed justified as aq2a had technically broken market rules. To prevent all publicity from being lost, he instead constructed a "tiny warehouse" in the market, advertising the warp.

Succession

In April of 2024, aq2a ran for re-election as Spawn Town Mayor against two other candidates, and eventually lost to competitor 16.png Grassboii. With a prize pool of $100,000 it was a significant missed opportunity that would have secured the UIP Warehouse's future for the foreseeable future. To add insult to injury, the Spawn Town government only had half of the money it had promised it's victor, and thanks to his close ties to the UIP and Spawn Town Legislature, aq2a was contacted to pay the remaining $50,000 due straight from the Warehouse's earnings. Despite this, 16.png Grassboii and aq2a would become friends through the event.

Trivia

  • aq2a has collected all items from the staff toolkit including an astounding 28 coal ore, which he has been instructed to not

distribute. Along with 16.png ItsScientific, he is one of the few non staff members to possess the block.

  • aq2a has collected at one point or another, every illegal item that the holiday shop sells.
  • aq2a was the first non staff member to gain access to staff town using nether portals. This was only possible due to an oversight in the World Guard, and he was even able to break and place blocks in the restricted area.
  • aq2a discovered the last cactus Admin Shop sell sign. These bugs were reported and patched by staff members.
