Revision as of 22:49, 26 November 2023
The 3nd Spawn Town Election was held between November 1-4 at 5:00 AM (UTC) on both days and of 2023 and is the most consequential one on RetroMC to date.
This was another election to select the new mayor of Spawn Town; the role itself is mostly ceremonial.
Candidates had to pay the election commitee (
CruxyMC) $2000 before Oct 31st 2023 at 12:00 AM (24:00, UTC).
Background
On October 26th of 2023, CruxyMC made a public forum post on the RMC Discord guild for a call to action on gathering possible candidates for the 3rd Spawn Town election and in under 24 hours, the candidates arrived and participated.
The election was supposed to be held sometime during the summer vaction, but was delayed due to a low player count and lack of quality candidates to field from.
The main issue that candidates ran into was action, or lack thereof - the 2 leading candidates,
Meowser_ and
aq2a, felt that the then-incumbent
Orknarok_666 didn't do enough as mayor.

Election rules
- You could run for an infinite amount of terms.
- This is to keep a peaceful transfer of what little power the mayor actually has.
- Only players with Citizen or above could run for mayor.
- A $2000 entrance fee must be paid in order to run for mayor.
- Candidates could make up to 3 billboards/advertisments in Spawn Town and must be removed after the election.
- Candidates could make a manifesto and could send it to
CruxyMC for revision before posting it in the forum post.
- The winner of the election would receive 100% of the total pot + $20,000 from the Election Committee.
- The winner could do whatever they wanted with the money.
- The winner gets access to the White House in Spawn Town as their base of operations on RMC until the next election arrives.
- Everyone on RetroMC has the right to vote except banned/muted players, and votes casted by alternate accounts are disregarded.
