The 3nd Spawn Town Election was held between November 1st and November 3rd of 2023.
This was an election to select the new mayor of Spawn Town; the role itself is mostly ceremonial.
The 3rd Spawn Town Election was the most consequential Election on RetroMC to date

Background

On October 26th, CruxyMC made a public forum post on the RMC discord for a call to action on gathering possible candidates for the 3rd Spawn Town election. It only took 24 hours for him to gather Candidates.

The Election Was supposed to be held sometime in summer but was delayed due too a poor player count and lack of quality candidates to field from.

The main Issue that Candidates ran on was Action. The two Leading Candidates, Meowser_ and aq2a, did not feel like the incumbent mayor, Orknarok_666,did not do enough as mayor.

Election rules

1. You could run for an infinite amount of non-consecutive terms.

   This is to keep a peaceful transfer of what little power the mayor actually has.

2. Only players with Citizen or above could run for mayor.
3. A $2000 entrance fee must be paid in order to run for mayor.
4. The winner of the election would receive 100% of the total pot + $42,000 from the Election Committee.
5. Everyone on RetroMC has the right to vote except banned players.
