JVote is a vote plugin developed by xGunner. It was designed to replace the old vote plugin which was plagued with bugs.
Functionality
The plugin allows votes to change the time of day or weather to be started. It provides the following commands:
/vote day
(Starts a vote for daytime)/vote night
(Starts a vote for nighttime)/vote storm
(Starts a vote for a thunderstorm)/vote clear
or/vote sun
(Starts a vote to clear a thunderstorm)
/vote yes
or/vote y
(Cast a "yes" vote)/vote no
or/vote n
(Cast a "no" vote)
Differences between JVote and Old Plugin
- Voting System
JVote bases the result of a vote off of what the majority of players voted for. However, when the old vote plugin was still in place, a single "no" vote would conclude the entire vote as "no".
- Bugs
The old vote plugin was infamous for sending "ghost mails" to players after a vote had passed. Players would be under the impression that they had received mail, but upon trying to run /mail read
, would find out that their mail was empty.
Votes would also occasionally not change the daytime or weather condition correctly. For example, daytime votes would sometimes set the time to day and immediately set it back to night.
