Atacama is a town on RetroMC founded by 16.png _Revok_ on 22nd December 2022, and is currently owned by 16.png aq2a as of August 2024. The town is named after the Atacama Desert located in Chile. Though 16.png aq2a is the current Town "Chief", he is bound by a pact to return ownership to 16.png _Revok_ should he return. The village is located at the coordinates X: -6229, Z: -3775.

History

2022

On December 22nd, 2022, 16.png _Revok_, started the town of Atacama, due to his ties with many active players from different servers, the town grew rapidly. Many long-time players of RetroMC joined Atacama during this time, and many large scale projects were started. These included a large terraforming project, started by 16.png firewarrior99 / 16.png CruxyMC, and a large bridge started by 16.png aq2a.

2023

Sometime during the first few months of 2023, 16.png _Revok_ took a hiatus from RetroMC and gave control of the town over to 16.png CruxyMC. 16.png CruxyMC would continue to work on his landscaping projects and continue development on the town.Atacama became the Commonwealth of Atacama by May of 2023, and a district system was created. The districts of Atacama, Trentin, and Brooklyn, were created. During this time, 16.png aq2a began contruction of the Atacama Bridge. It quickly became the largest projects in the town.
As the year went on, many players began working on other projects, but 16.png CruxyMC and 16.png aq2a continued to work on the town. 16.png CruxyMC continued to work on landscaping, roads, and new districts, while 16.png aq2a began construction on the Atacama Lodge, and Winter Palace. Although the town had basically died, activity was still being fueled by these two players.

2024

By the beginning of 2024, Atacama had not seen any activity aside from 16.png CruxyMC who continued to work on creating new land for a future revival. He had been staffing on the server since early 2023, and had little time to work on personal projects. 16.png aq2a had become distracted with the construction of the UIP Warehouse and had not worked on any projects in Atacama in some time. During August of 2024, 16.png aq2a was given the title of "Chief" under the condition he agreed to the pact that 16.png CruxyMC had made with 16.png _Revok_. Rumors of plans for a revival near the end of 2024 have been circulating, and it's likely that the town will begin inviting people to repopulate soon.
