Tistan01 founding the sixth nation to preserve BetaLands towns
By: Pilzhut5
On September 24 2026, the owner of VillageTown Tistan01 founded the sixth nation of the server, BetaLands.
This is not to be confused with the BetaLands server, which was shut down in 2023. The BetaLands nation intends to preserve all BetaLands towns that were transferred over to RetroMC. So far, VillageTown is the only member of the nation, but Tistan01 wants to expand it further, until all towns are in.
The current plans are to get Clifford into the nation next, Tistan01 claimed that other towns are uninvolved so far.
There is an issue with the plans though. While approximately 20 towns got transferred over from the BetaLands server to RetroMC, Tistan01 doesn't exactly know which towns were transferred. He pointed out, that the fact that most of the towns are abandoned and/or unclaimed wouldn't make the process easier.
There also would be a lack of resources, since RetroMC is a completely different server with different players, but SFRicraz63 already offered helping out.
Since October 16, 2026, the BetaLands nation became an ally of the Imperial Union of Nordheim after a five-word conversation between Tistan01 and SFRicraz63.
Another major roadblock just appeared in the last days, when Tistan01 found Oceanside, another abandoned village from BetaLands. While there are players on RetroMC which were part of Oceanside, Tistan01 has no relation to the owners and thus isn't allowed to claim the village. He says it is protected from griefing though, and he hopes that someone from that town will take care of it. He further explains "we don't know who moved it, and whoever did hasn't been online in about seven years".
Still he hopes that his nation will cover most of the BetaLands towns in the future, preferrably active ones. Not to get a world power, but to reclaim, reunite and preserve them.

Pumpkin Prices Plummet
By: Bawhoppen
Pumpkin values took a nosedive in the month of October, rattling agricultural markets. Beginning early in the month of October, coinciding with the Halloween season, admin Garsoon launched the October Dungeon Mob Arena (DMA). A widely celebrated event, players quickly discovered one of the rewards for completion of the DMA was a stack of 8 pumpkins per visit. This shocked many observers, as pumpkins have traditionally been a scarce resource, due to their inability to be farmed in Beta 1.7.3, only being able to be found occasionally in the wild.
With a run of the DMA being able to be completed in only 5-10 minutes, pumpkins have become a renewable resource, even if only for the month of October. This has naturally significantly affected pumpkin prices. Economic analysis indicates pre-DMA pumpkin SELL prices averaged at around $13.4 per item. Following the introduction of DMA, prices have tumbled down to around $5 SELL per item, 37% of their pre-DMA value. BUY prices have similarly been affected, with the typical stocked BUY price of pumpkins being $6.25/per. This is a far-cry from the pre-DMA levels, where BUY prices rose as high as $75 per item!
Reactions have been mixed on this occurrence. Some traders have issued complaints, due to their large stockpiles of pumpkins losing much of their rarity and value. Other players have enjoyed this opportunity to gain large numbers of free pumpkins, excited to use them in builds. When asked for comment on their opinion of this, one player, local Quarry Foreman Skull6, commented "W. It's a W."
Regardless of your stance, it's clear that pumpkin prices are going to remain low until the October DMA is out.

NE Leader Reveals New Nation Name, Details IUN's Future Plans
By: HanSolo20
Dozens of players gathered on Sunday 10 October in Nordran's Townhall to listen to a speech given by SFRricraz63, emperor of the RetroMC's biggest village NorthernEmpires.
In his address, SFR, who also leads the NorthernEmpires nation, announced that, after deliberation and agreement among the officials representing the nation's member villages, a new name for the nation had been decided. The nation, which originally shared its name with its founding village--a common cause for confusion--would now be known as the Imperial Union of Nordheim.
SFR then detailed his plans and visions for the future of the IUN and the role it is to play in the server community. Plans are currently being drafted for the construction of a new capital city, with terraforming already 70% completed. According to SFR, the capital is to serve as a major trading hub. Other future plans of the IUN include a citizenship program, a job system, and providing aid to villages in connecting them to the server-wide Concord Railway network.
With the IUN being one of the server's two biggest nations and the NorthernEmpires village already having been influential within the RetroMC community, such as by organizing PVP tournaments and other major events, many players were interested in what SFR had to say. Because of this, the player count on RetroMC reached 56 for the first time, setting a new record in server attendance.
The speech was followed by a short tour of Nordran, the capital of the NorthernEmpires village. It remains to be seen how and when SFR's ambitious plans will be implemented.
