Design of the Flag of the Imperial Coalition
Background
The flag of Okeogi and the Imperial Coalition has a bi-color background of red and blue. The blue represents the Okeogian sea. After all, Okeogi was an island nation. The red represents blood, blood from hard work and blood from killing mobs. In the foreground is a sword and shield. The shield represents Okeogians' inclination to defend one another from external threats to the empire. The sword represents the Okeogian will to fight for the empire. It is an iron sword because iron was the most popular metal used in armor, tools, and weapons. It was designed by
steve02 on February 2nd, 2019. The discord version of the flag was designed was designed by outfieldcheck (whose username is now
loggerman04) from Outfieldville. The flag was officially hung over town hall on February 3rd, 2019. This flag and its many variants fly in territories all across RetroMC.
Flag Design Proposals
Residents and mayors across the empire submitted designs for the flag that would replace the flag of old Okeogi. Riverian mayor
ItIsAris proposed a double-triangle flag and Cliffside mayor Waid proposed a gold checkered. Many variants of Waid's proposal were submitted as well.
Flag of Old Okeogi
The first flag of Okeogi was designed by
Varuker. It was a simple tricolor flag that was hung by
Varuker and
ExOtIcK_ on August 2nd, 2018, over town hall.
Emblem of Okeogi
The emblem of Okeogi and the Imperial Coalition features a white background with alternating red and white corners to follow the theming of the flag. It features a bird in the center representing flight, expansion, and agility.
