Mathaliah is a de facto independent town originally established as a semi-autonomous district adjacent to Nebuley. It imposes strict regulations on architecture, aiming to create a futuristic town. It was founded in August 2023 by 16.png samcraft3 with assistance from 16.png ZEROCONDA.

Etymology and Flags

Name

The name "Mathaliah" comes from the Arabic word مثالية (mithaliah/mathaliah) meaning exemplary, reflecting the desire to build an ideal, quasi-utopian district within Nebuley.

Flags

Mathaliah’s official flag is a plain yellow 3:1 banner, symbolizing wealth and prosperity.

Regulations

Mathaliah has strict building rules in place to maintain aesthetic consistency and ensure that all constructions contribute to the town's intended look.

History

Foundation

Mathaliah was founded in August 2023 by 16.png samcraft3, with support from 16.png ZEROCONDA. 16.png samcraft3 wanted to create a district in which the only allowed buildings blocks would be sandstone, stone, bricks and wood. This idea was quickly scrapped and the district was now dedicated to futuristic buildings. At the beginning, Mathaliah consisted only of a bridge and a small "wishing well" with a rules board outlining strict architectural standards. These structures set the tone for the town’s future vision, but despite its promising start, Mathaliah was abandoned shortly after its founding and remained unused until June 2024.

Revival and Expansion

The First Mathalian Skyscraper

In June 2024, 16.png samcraft3 returned to Mathaliah, initiating its transformation into an active part of Nebuley. The first major construction was the First Mathalian Skyscraper, and the wishing well was dismantled. The construction of the first skyscraper necessitated a very important effort, as a large area had to be dug out to make place for the skyscraper, since the original measurements made by 16.png samcraft3 in creative mode in 1.21 did not accound for the limited block height of only 128 blocks. This effort was facilitated by the help of many players, most notably 16.png Gazuzz, 16.png ooosaft, 16.png Ingrate and 16.png ZEROCONDA. It was among the largest projects ever built in Nebuley. A border dispute near Mathaliah emerged in late June between Nebuley and Utiopia, a new town founded by 16.png Atalaydavud, and other incidents followed soon, detailed in this page.

Highway to RainyCity

After the founding of RainyCity, a new town neighboring Mathaliah, a border treaty was signed and the first completed Nebuleyian highway, the RainyCity-Nebuley highway, was built and linked both towns through Mathaliah. Soon after, while Template:User-samcraft3 was expanding roads, the original bridge linking Mathaliah to Nebuley was partially demolished and is scheduled for complete removal, with the end goal of replacing it with a modern subway station that will be more aesthetically pleasing and could serve as a crossing point between Beetopia, Nebuley and RainyCity.

Independence from Nebuley

On October 27, 2024, 16.png samcraft3 secured Mathaliah’s independence from Nebuley through negotiations with 16.png Ingrate, its owner and founder. This independence granted Mathaliah full autonomy, enabling it to enforce its own regulations, control resources, and continue expanding freely.
