As of early 2026, the player count on [[RetroMC]] was usually around 10 and rarely up to 20 online at a time. Any time the player count surpasses 20 players is thus noteworthy and online players typically comment on the unusually high player count.

On 15 May 2026, one such instances of the player count exceeding 20 occured. However, instead of quickly returning to normal levels, as would typically be the case, the count keep rising and eventually peaked at 32 players. Several of the online players took this opportunity to gather multiple players in one location to celebrate the unusually high level of activity on the server.
On 15 May 2026 the players {{user|bpduser}} and {{user|aspduser}} were showing their "not a torture device" to a group of people at [[Spawn Town]]. During the showcase, {{user|Pittofer}} started to threaten them with dropping TNT from a biplane built by {{user|Rockship2910}} right above the contraption. When the crisis was averted, more and more people got on the plane, causing much chaos. The players reportedly witnessed a ghast flying by them, many instances of josh sightings as well as staff member {{user|SFRricraz63}} throwing people from the ground onto the plane. People on the plane managed their time through talking, playing music, bombing people below, firing arrows in the distance and pushing others off.
