BetaEvolutions 2 (BetaEvo 2 or Bevo2) is the successor to BetaEvolutions, released on January 9, 2026. It represents a complete overhaul of the project, focusing on new features, in-game voice communication, and extensibility while continuing to target Beta 1.7.3. The project was developed mainly for RetroMC by the BetaEvolutions development team consisting of 16.png Garsooon, 16.png Grassboii and 16.png JohnyMuffin.

Overview

BetaEvolutions 2 reworks large parts of the client-side experience, introducing new Gui and systems that feel closer to modern Minecraft while remaining faithful to Beta 1.7.3. Unlike BetaEvolutions 1, which focused primarily on fixes and restoration, BetaEvolutions 2 emphasizes quality-of-life improvements like new Gui or F3 menus and social features like a reworked VoIP(voice over IP) system focusing on security and the user experience.
