It's funny how you pop in from time to time. Sometimes you play for a couple days, sometimes weeks. Months go by, maybe more than a year before you join again. You think of the ol' days, the days of playing the WII and Pocket Edition on your iPod Touch 4, going to elementary school, knowing all your classmates and having a ton of friends to play with. Even if you didn't always want to play with others and preferred playing alone at home.
What you're most nostalgic for, isn't this one game that you have such fond memories of. But rather that feeling of comfort, coziness and safety of your surroundings. You're still in that same town all these years later, you still talk to your friends from elementary school. God, how long's it been? 19 years already!
You might not have felt that feeling you're so nostalgic for in a long while. Because things change, times change, life got less and less simple once you got to middle school. People grow up, people move out, you mess up, you lose, you win, it's all there.
You rarely felt that way back then, cause you didn't know any better. Can't blame you for that. But just because you only feel that way about it in hindsight, doesn't mean you can feel that way while you're in the moment. You know how it feels now, try and realize you're feeling that way when you feel it in the future. Might take a while, I don't have a glass ball to look into. I'm sure some day you'll have a grasp on your world once again. You'll have your safety and comfort, you'll have your routine, and you'll have built those yourself. Just like you used to build in this game.
Be seeing ya, Fockens.
