The Fog

The fog is a mystical event that occurs from time to time and its nature is unknown.

Characteristics

Its appearance is announced via this message in the game chat:

The server will restart in 10m.

After this, a countdown begins and with each minute passing by, the same message is sent with the remaining minutes left prior to the attack; it takes exactly 10 real-life minutes before the fog attacks.
Players who were accustomed to the fog's appearance tend to say "The fog is coming."

Once the countdown reaches "0 minutes", the fog deals a consistently swift attack to the players, giving them near-zero reaction time. The players end up getting disconnected with this message that goes along the lines of:

The server is restarting.

Behind the scenes, to deal with the attack, staff members step in to fight the fog, which usually ends in a couple of seconds or a few minutes, and eventually bringing the server back online.

Rumors

A prevalent rumor that circulates between players is that Scout is involved via him providing buffs and fights the fog alongside the staff team; this was the logical explanation that players arrived at due to how fast the server gets back online after the attack.

Trivia

 ArbiterGaming is known to have a specific join message:

The ArbiterGaming will restart in 10 minutes.

Many players were confused this message with the real fog-arrival message at first, but over time, people started to pay more attention to the messages they see in thef in-game chat.
Sometimes, when  ArbiterGaming hasn't joined for a while, many players confuse the fog-arrival message with Arbiter's join message.
