This starting area, or spawn is where players start their RetroMC experience.
A few buildings are here to help most players out.
Players are invincible in here and the surrounding town, so fall damage, drowning and lava damage are nothing to worry about.
Spawn island
Intro
When a player first joins the server or uses /warp intro
, they'll be greeted with signs telling them to register a password using /register <password>
.
The area itself displays all the rules and information about the server.
Most of the frequently asked questions are answered here and several signs are placed as a reminder to check the rules.
Spawn
The spawn island area contains a couple buildings, some of which have purposes, others empty.
Players who join without authenticating via BetaEvolutions or similar, will be teleported here to enter a password, and will then be teleported to the previous location they were at.
/spawn
can obviously be used to get here.
Server Shop
Accessed by /warp shop
, this establishment allows players to buy/sell items via money.
Items range from basic materials such as wood, wool, and cobblestone, to valuables such as sponges, and diamonds.
Usually better prices can be found elsewhere in Spawn Town, most notably at the Moon
and Mall
warps.
The market guide goes more in-depth regarding this.
Maccas
A fast-food restaurant managed by
JohnyMuffin where you can buy food.
(FYI: Not an actual food shop in RMC)
Nether Portal
A Nether portal with some info about the Nether and lava surrounding it.
Holiday Shop
This building allows players to buy items specific to a holiday, usually Christmas and Halloween.
It's locked in-between holidays, so peeking is discouraged.
