The Dungeon, made by
EternalllZM, is a minigame wherein players navigate through a semi-laybrinth whilst fighting monsters.
Although the premise is simple, the minigame itself isn't that easy.
Entering the dungeon
Coordinates: 3752 45 3225
/warp dungeon
.
There's also a section about the dungeon in spawn.
Only the first dungeon is complete.
Plot of the first dungeon
The signs next to the entrance to the actual dungeon read as follows:
The Evil Kekistanis are building & assembling an army in this facility!
Reach the Top!
They plan to grief the server!
Assist RMC with removing the bad actors.
Completion guide
Noggisoggi shall tell you the info you need.
Preparation
Important: You'll need to have a steadfast mind, or in simple terms, patience, and some skill in combat and parkour.
Food
Stacked food will be your best friend in this minigame.
See General_tips#Stacking_the_unstackable_items if you want to know how.
I recommend that you get a few stacks of bread and cooked porkchops.
While you can bring mushroom soup stacked, you have to unstack the soup bowls to eat one, which isn't handy during the heat of battle.
Weaponry and armor
- Melee weapon: Stack a few iron swords, maybe 2 to 3 swords.
- Ranged weapon: Bring a bow and several stacks of arrows; 10 of them should be good.
- Armor: No armor is really needed, provided that you have enough food and you can heal fast enough. If you really need armor, a leather/iron set is sufficient. I don't recommend diamond armor in this minigame as it's essentially a waste.
1st floor
It's dark in this dungeon, so you may need to change your display's brightness.
Enemies can spawn in very small numbers, so be wary.
Otherwise, you can relax for a bit as you prepare your mind and body in-game.
Your goal is to find & climb the ladder in each floor.
You may also stumble across a room with a campfire, alongside 2 signs:
It is never too late to turn back...
For I have seen horrors beyond the imagination lying above.
You needn't follow the advice of the anonymous person who etched this vague, yet wary anecdote, if you have prepared like I instructed.
Once you find the ladder, steel yourself, and climb it.
-
The entrance.
-
A room with ice for the floor and without an entrance.
-
A campfire with 2 signs describing an anonymous person's vague, yet wary anecdote.
2nd floor
Zombies and skeletons galore.
Kill any of them that stand in your way.
The ladder you seek will be nearby another campfire.
- Note: Parts of this dungeon are dark in-game, so I increased the exposure of some images.
-
A skeleton shooting me (the cameraman) next to a campfire.
-
2 zombies and 2 skeletons.
-
A zombie and skeleton nearby a spawner.
-
The ladder at the end of the floor.
3rd floor
Cobwebs are scattered across the room, and the floor has gaps with web in them, so be wary of where you're jumping.
Spiders make their initial appearance here.
This floor is kinda linear, so you should know where to go.
A campfire will be nearby the ladder.
-
The entrance.
-
A bunch of spiders, nearby the spawner, climbing walls, with the exception of one.
-
A zombie descending into the previous floor.
-
-
2 zombies are descending into the previous floor, and there's a spawner.
-
A campfire with a ladder nearby.
4th floor
There are 4 exits, one of them is in front of you when you enter the floor from the door.
Behind the entrance lies a public chest, currently empty.
-
A bunch of zombies and spiders chasing the cameraman, me.
5th floor
Regardless of the exit you chose in the 4th floor, the general features remain the same, apart from the mobs in the spawner changing.
There's gaps in the floor, and the ladder will be right in front of you once you exit the 4th floor.
6th floor
Creepers spawn in this floor only, but they can reach the previous floors via the gaps in the floor.
There's cobwebs contaminating the entire floor and there are 2 exits.
7th floor
This floor is mostly shrouded in darkness, so you'll need to increase your display's brightness or whatever.
Only zombies spawn in this floor.
Eventually, you'll stumble across the ladder.
8th floor
I hope you have steeled yourself.
Because this is the most difficult room, by far!
There is a central pillar of lava, alongside a few spawners that summon skeletons.
To reach the ladder, you will need to complete a parkour course, and of course, the skeletons will be a nuisance. And a huge one at that.
Before attempting the parkour, kill all of the skeletons in this floor and use the lava pillar to your advantage by luring the skeletons into it.
Immediately after defeating all of them, start the parkour section and get through it as fast as you can before the skeletons spawn.
At a certain point, they won't be able to hit you anymore, so you can complete it with less stress.
- While I was taking screenshots, I found a trick to make a slightly easier jump to the mossy cobble/ice platform at the top: jump directly from the ladder.
-
The central lava pillar, alongside skeleton spawners and a parkour course.
-
Part of the parkour course.
-
Another part of the parkour course.
-
The aforementioned trick.
-
The way out of the hell that is this floor.
Remember: You will probably fail several times when attempting this for the first time, so do not give up! Keep trying, and you shall succeed. :)
9th floor
Get ready to shoot a crap ton of arrows. You'll be glad I told you to get a bunch of stacks.
There's no parkour, but skeletons will still spawn here, accompanied by spiders.
Get through the cobweb and head straight to the ladder, while killing all skeletons that spawn.
You will get shot a couple of times when climbing, so kill all skeletons that have spawned in this floor before climbing.
And before long...
10th and 11th floors
There's no enemies on these floors as both of them are merely victory laps.
If you have reached this far, walk across the floor adorned with valuables to the ladder, and climb it.
-
The sweet taste of victory.
-
-
The surface of the dungeon.
Below the reward chest lies a sign:
VICTORIOUS!
RetroMC has been saved thanks to you
Congratulations on beating the dungeon!
Give yourself a pat on the back. :)
-
...
The 2nd dungeon
The Spider Dungeon was incomplete in its then-current state as indicated by it having no warp.
The spawners don't actually spawn monsters, and the rewards chests are publicly inaccessible.
This is themed after the Nether, with a ton of cobwebs added.
It was located near the first dungeon, but in late 2023, it was WorldEdited away via //regen
.
-
The entrance.
-
-
A slightly-hard platforming challenge.
