The Skylands 2025 Corruption was a world map corruption that occurred sometime around October 2025 in which a significant amount of the Skylands dimension, from the +Z to -Z borders, were completely reset due to an unknown error. Upon affected chunks being loaded, they would generate seemingly normal overworld terrain. This has led to sheer cliff faces in the middle of the void. Multiple towns, builds, and roads have vanished due to the corruption, and as of 19 March 2026 have not yet been restored.

Characteristics
The corruption caused a large number of Skylands chunks, including player builds, to be deleted and replaced with new chunks closely resembling normal overworld terrain.
This phenomenon was limited to two distinct landmasses. The first of which, nicknamed 'The Strip' by Skylands explorer
HanSolo20, began east of X = 1024 and extended continuously from the northern (-Z) to the southern (+Z) world borders, with a width of around 1,500 blocks. At some locations the width changed to an estimated 1,000 blocks. This created several inner and outer "corners" where the corruption met adjacent regular Skylands chunks. The second landmass, nicknamed 'The Eastern Borderlands' by
HanSolo20, was located a few thousand blocks further east along the X-axis and extended to and all the way along the northern, southern and eastern world borders.
The more one explored the corrupted terrain, the more one realized how abnormal this new land actually was compared to the regular Overworld. One would encounter glitched blocks such as invisible pumpkins, floating cacti and sugar cane, as well as initially invisible small lakes, causing the unsuspecting explorer to get stuck in glitched blocks. The most striking anomaly however was the arrangement of biomes. One could travel for thousands of blocks (such as along the western edge of the strip from the X-axis to the northern world border, a distance of over 9,000 blocks) without encountering a single biome colder than regular forest.
HanSolo20 thus initially referred to the corruption as 'The Warmlands', until later discovering other regions ('The Coldlands') that similarly only contained cold biomes, no warmer than regular forest.
Exploration
Who has explored the Corruption?
Though the staff team and some casual players have explored some of the corruption, the most thorough exploration has been undertaken by
HanSolo20, who traveled along most of the perimeter of the glitched terrain and reached the northern, southern and eastern world borders on separate occasions.
Overallsteak748 has traversed through the interior of the corruption in search of non-renewable resources, being one of the first to travel from world border to world border.
What has been found?
Other than exotic or expensive wares, dungeons and land claims from before the world corruption have been discovered in the newly created wilderness.
Settlements
There have been few developments in the corruption, these being a few small houses clustered around the center of the landmass. This is due to part of the corrupted chunks intersecting with the 4,000 by 4,000 block random teleport range, causing players to unintentionally access the corruption and settle there.
